Hiking tour 19 - Le Col des Aiguilles

  • Medium difficulty hike with a small aerial passage. Experience a grandiose ride whose success is not overused. The bottom of the Vallon is unique, it is occupied by a filled-in glacial lake, crossed by a stream which has traced multiple meanders.

    Return by the same path.

    Whether on foot, mountain bike or horseback, respect the herds of suckler cows when crossing the paddocks. Keep your distance, close the gates and don't try to pet the animals. If your dog is with you, keep it on a leash and avoid areas with herds.

    From the Col du Festre car park, follow the D937 road towards Agnières en Dévoluy for 100 m, cross it and take the pastoral track. We follow this one to "Serre...

    > Return by the same path.

    From the Col du Festre car park, follow the D937 road towards Agnières en Dévoluy for 100 m, cross it and take the pastoral track. We follow this one to "Serre Noir",
    then we continue on the GR94 which climbs through the pastures to a small plateau where there is a pastoral hut.
    From there, the path goes to the right and passes the Selenq hump. Through a wide rocky ledge, overlooking the Saute-Aure waterfall, the route enters the Vallon des Aiguilles.
    BE CAREFUL, this passage is not recommended in rainy weather, the ledge quickly becoming slippery.
    You then easily go up the bottom of the green valley to the Roy fountain. The valley narrows and, through a short scree, you climb to the Col des Aiguilles surrounded by the cliffs of Haut Bouffet and the Tête de Vachères.
    The return takes the same route.
